About Dixons Academies Trust
Dixons Academies Trust is a values‑led, high‑performing family of schools serving communities across Bradford, Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester. We exist to improve life chances by providing a transformational education for children and young people in the North, particularly those facing the greatest disadvantage.
Our academies share a common culture, a common mission and a common commitment to social mobility.
Our schools and college serve thousands of children and young people, and every day our staff work to create environments where students are known, valued and challenged to achieve their potential. As we continue to grow and strengthen our impact, we are seeking exceptional individuals to join our board of trustees and help shape the next chapter of our journey.
This is an opportunity for leaders who want to use their expertise, influence and experience to make a meaningful difference. We are looking for people who can challenge, support and inspire us, bringing strategic insight, fresh perspectives and a commitment to improving outcomes for young people.
About the roles
Trustees at Dixons Academies Trust play a vital role in advancing our mission to challenge educational and social disadvantage across the North. As a member of the Board, you will help shape our trust’s strategic direction, safeguard our long-term sustainability and ensure that every decision reflects our values, mission and commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes for children and young people.
This is a significant governance role with collective responsibility for overseeing educational performance, financial stewardship, risk management and regulatory compliance across a growing family of academies. Trustees provide constructive challenge and support to executive leaders, ensuring that our trust remains ambitious, financially resilient and focused on delivering the highest standards of education and care.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for people who can challenge, support and inspire us, bringing strategic insight, fresh perspectives and a commitment to improving outcomes for young people.
We are particularly interested in hearing from leaders with expertise in:
· Finance, audit and risk – helping us maintain strong financial stewardship, effective governance and long-term sustainability.
· Education, including primary and SEND – bringing insight into teaching, learning, inclusion and the experiences of children across different stages of education.
We are looking for trustees who bring not only professional expertise, but also curiosity, ambition and a belief in the power of education to transform communities.
We want our board to reflect the diversity of the students and families we serve and we warmly welcome applications from people with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.
This is more than a governance role. It is an opportunity to help shape the future of thousands of young people and contribute to a lasting legacy.
