About The De Curci Trust
The De Curci Trust exists to provide excellent, inclusive education that transforms lives and strengthens our community. Based in Portsmouth, we educate over 1,700 pupils across three schools, each with its own identity but united by shared values and a commitment to high standards. Our schools serve diverse communities and we are dedicated to ensuring that every child, regardless of background, need or circumstance, can succeed.
We place particular emphasis on supporting vulnerable learners, including pupils with SEND, those eligible for pupil premium and service children. Our approach combines high expectations with strong pastoral care, ensuring that every child feels known, valued and supported.
Collaboration is central to our ethos. As hub leaders for Challenge Partners, we work closely with schools across the South Coast to share best practice and drive improvement. Our joint initiatives, such as pedagogy conferences, maths continuity projects and inclusive education programmes, strengthen professional practice and create seamless learning experiences across our schools.
About the roles
You will provide strategic oversight, constructive challenge and support to the executive team, ensuring that financial sustainability, risk management, safeguarding and educational performance remain strong and aligned to our values.
You will be encouraged to visit our schools, meet staff and pupils and engage with the lived experience of our community, ensuring that governance remains grounded in the realities of school life. This connection strengthens the quality of oversight and ensures that decisions reflect the needs of pupils, families and staff.
By joining our Board, you will help shape the future of education in Portsmouth, contributing your expertise to a Trust committed to high aspirations, strong relationships and continuous improvement at a time when the sector is undergoing significant change.
Who we are looking for
We welcome applications from individuals with a wide range of professional backgrounds who share our commitment to inclusive, high‑quality education and who can bring thoughtful, informed perspectives as the sector undergoes significant structural and regulatory change.
We are especially interested in candidates with expertise in education, finance, audit, risk, legal, HR, safeguarding, SEND, marketing, communications, business leadership or organisational operations. However, we remain open to a broad range of professional experiences.
