The Technical Artist / Programming Lecturer role at Escape Studios is a hands-on teaching position for an experienced Technical Artist, Tools Programmer, or Pipeline Developer who is passionate about mentoring the next generation of developers and technical artists. The role involves delivering undergraduate and postgraduate modules covering Python programming, Object-Oriented Programming, technical art workflows, tool development, pipeline automation, and real-time graphics concepts for Games and VFX.
Lecturers provide students with industry-focused feedback, coaching, and assessment, helping them develop practical skills using technologies such as Unreal Engine, Maya, OpenUSD, and Python-based production tools. The role also includes exploring and teaching the integration of AI within creative and technical workflows, reflecting the evolving needs of the Games and VFX industries.
Alongside teaching, lecturers contribute to curriculum development, research, and industry engagement, working closely with leading studios to ensure courses reflect current production practices. The position offers hybrid working, ongoing professional development, and the opportunity to help shape some of the UK's leading Technical Art and Programming programmes within a highly collaborative academic team.
