Kitchen Assistant (part time/full time)

Location – Gloucestershire

Salary - £23,133 per annum for full time (35 hours per week) pro rata for part time (e.g. £13,880 per annum for 21 hours per week)

Contract – 2 x part time, permanent positions available (a total of 42 hours per week). Full time applicants (35 hours per week) would be considered as well.

We are looking for two Kitchen Assistants to join our friendly team on our Gloucestershire farm. We are ideally looking for two people working three days per week, 21 hours each, however we would consider full time (35 hours per week) applicants as well. The two roles will cover 42 hours per week between them and we may be able to give some flexibility about how these hours are divided between two candidates. Farms for City Children offers children and young people a week in the heart of the British countryside staying on one of our farms. Visiting children are immersed in the natural world of food, farming, and countryside life where they participate in the seasonal tasks of the day: sowing, growing and harvesting in our kitchen gardens, caring for livestock and looking after the land, and a variety of tasks designed to build greater connection with the natural world like beekeeping, biodiversity walks, and birdwatching.

About the Role

This is a hands-on role supporting the efficient running of a busy kitchen, responsible for preparing food and supporting sessions for groups of beneficiary children at Wick Court. There is also opportunity to support growing in the garden, work outside on the farm and support family events.

The Kitchen Assistant plays an important role within our farm to fork offer, and alongside the Kitchen Manager will prepare meals for up to 40 guests a week.
