About us: 

Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, unlike NHS emergency services, is a charity. The free life-saving service is provided 24/7 by helicopters and by rapid response vehicles. Each critical care team consists of a pilot and co-pilot, a pre-hospital care doctor and a critical care paramedic. 

They can be rushed to the scene with life-saving support equipment to deliver advanced clinical care, usually only available in the hospital emergency department. Once stabilised, the patient will be conveyed to the most appropriate hospital by air or land. 

Without access to National Lottery funding and with only limited support from Government, we rely upon the generosity and goodwill of the people and businesses of Essex and Hertfordshire to remain operational and keep saving lives…we can’t fly without you! 

Job purpose: 

As part of our ongoing commitment to improving outcomes from cardiac arrest, Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT) has developed a comprehensive strategy that embraces every element of the Chain of Survival in resuscitation. We are now seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to support the continued growth, visibility and success of our CPR Smart Programme for Schools.

Working closely with the Clinical Community Lead and CPR Smart Clinician, the post holder will help coordinate, promote and deliver the CPR Smart Programme across Essex and Hertfordshire. The role will support schools to become and remain CPR Smart schools by building strong relationships with education providers, coordinating training activities, maintaining regular communication, and ensuring schools have the resources and support needed to deliver high-quality CPR education. The post holder will also encourage schools to celebrate and promote their CPR Smart status through social media, local media and wider community engagement opportunities, helping to increase awareness of lifesaving education and the impact of the programme.

The post holder will act as a key link between schools and EHAAT, identifying opportunities for increased engagement with the charity, supporting school-based fundraising initiatives, helping schools understand the impact their support has on EHAAT's clinical service, and developing a network of advocates who actively champion the CPR Smart Programme within their communities.

Summary of duties and responsibilities: 

• Work alongside the CPR Smart Clinician to coordinate and support delivery of the CPR Smart Programme across Essex and Hertfordshire.
• Support the organisation and administration of CPR Smart Champion training sessions.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with schools, multi-academy trusts, educational networks and other stakeholders.
• Ensure schools have access to all programme resources, presentations, parent letters, certificates, stickers and supporting materials.
• Monitor engagement and maintain accurate records of participating schools, champions trained and pupil reach.
• Support schools in planning and delivering fundraising activities for EHAAT, including assemblies, charity days, sponsored events and awareness campaigns.
• Build long-term relationships with schools to encourage ongoing engagement with EHAAT beyond CPR training.
• Actively identify, capture and promote success stories, photographs, videos, case studies and testimonials from participating schools, encouraging schools and CPR Smart Champions to share achievements through their own social media channels and wider networks to increase awareness and reach of the CPR Smart Programme.
• Champion the visibility of the CPR Smart Programme by working with schools, educational partners and EHAAT's marketing team to generate engaging content for social media, celebrate programme achievements, promote key campaigns and increase public awareness of CPR education.
• Encourage and support schools, teachers and pupils to act as ambassadors for the CPR Smart Programme, sharing their experiences through social media, local media and community networks.
• Attend school and community events to represent EHAAT and promote both the charity and the CPR Smart Programme.
• Work collaboratively with fundraising, marketing and clinical teams to maximise opportunities for school engagement, community impact and programme promotion.
• Support the development of campaigns and initiatives that increase participation in CPR Smart and strengthen the programme's presence across digital platforms.

Essential:

• Experience building and maintaining relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Passion for education, community engagement and improving public health outcomes.
• Ability to inspire and motivate schools to participate in educational, fundraising and advocacy activities.
• Ability to encourage and support schools, teachers and pupils to promote programme achievements through social media, local media and community engagement opportunities.
• Understanding of the value of social media and digital engagement in raising awareness and promoting community-based programmes.
• Confident using Microsoft Office and digital communication platforms.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout Essex and Hertfordshire

Desirable:

• Experience working within the education sector.
• Experience supporting fundraising or charity engagement activities.
• Knowledge of CPR education, community health promotion or youth engagement programmes.
• Experience developing partnerships with schools, colleges or youth organisations
• Experience managing social media, digital campaigns or community communications.
• Experience creating engaging content, case studies or promotional materials for social media platforms.
• Understanding of the charitable sector and the role of fundraising in supporting charitable services.

The Package

Salary: £28,000 to £30,000 per annum
