About the Role
Do you enjoy getting creative and helping others have fun? As an Arts and Crafts Volunteer, you'll support people with learning disabilities, autism, and sight loss to explore their creativity through a variety of arts and crafts activities. You'll help create a welcoming, inclusive space where everyone can express themselves, learn new skills, and enjoy being part of a group.

By supporting creative activities, you'll help people build confidence, develop new skills, make connections, and take pride in what they create. Most importantly, you'll help ensure everyone has the opportunity to have fun, express themselves, and shine.
What You Will Do
- Support and encourage people to participate in arts and crafts activities.
- Assist with setting up and tidying away materials and equipment.
- Help individuals explore different creative techniques and projects.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and enjoyable atmosphere.
- Encourage social interaction and participation within the group.
- Follow guidance from SeeAbility staff and work as part of the wider team.
- Ensure activities are carried out safely and respectfully.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for volunteers who are:
- Friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic.
- Passionate about creativity and arts-based activities.
- Good listeners with strong communication skills.
- Patient, understanding, and supportive of others.
- Comfortable working with people from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Willing to learn and follow guidance from staff.
Previous experience in arts and crafts or supporting people with disabilities is welcome but not essential.
Requirements
- Attend relevant training and induction sessions.
- Be willing to undergo a DBS check if required for the role.
- Commit to volunteering on a regular basis where possible.
- Adhere to SeeAbility's policies and procedures.
