About this role

At KCLSU, our vision is to create a future where every student has the opportunity to thrive. Together with our members, we are a union of students where individuals love their university experience, are involved in shaping the future, and have the power to make change and connect to each other.

We work to achieve this in a way that is aligned to our values - Inclusive, Collaborative, Open and Brave. These values guide how we behave, and how we go about our work.

KCLSU is excited to be recruiting members of student staff to work in our Communications, Marketing and Insight (CMI) team!

We’re looking to for two Video Content Assistants with experience creating social media content and a passion for digital storytelling. You'll be responsible for producing, filming, and editing engaging content for KCLSU’s social media channels. This flexible, part-time role is ideal for students, offering the opportunity to build your experience and portfolio, while fitting work around your academic commitments.

The full job description and person specification is attached. To apply, please fill out an application form. Once complete, please also share 2–3 videos (or a showreel) with HR@kclsu.org. These should best demonstrate your skills and reflect the style and tone of content across KCLSU's digital channels. Your submission should showcase your ability to create engaging, high-quality content for a student audience using strong filming, editing and storytelling techniques. If you don't have existing content that closely matches this style, you're welcome to create new material specifically for this application.

To be eligible to apply for this role you must:

  • Be eligible to work in the UK, and provide proof of this (i.e. a passport/visa) when asked by KCLSU
  • Be an enrolled or incoming student at King's College London.
  • Have a National Insurance number, or be in the process of applying for one
  • Not be a trustee of King’s College London Students’ Union. Ex-Trustees can apply for student staff (non-administrative) roles, as soon as they finish their tenure.
