Support Worker – Complex Needs Day Service (Learning Disabilities)

Location: Stratford-upon-Avon
Hours: Part time, 29 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £12.88 per hour

We're looking for a caring and enthusiastic Support Worker to join our Complex Needs Day Service in Stratford-upon-Avon.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support adults with learning disabilities and complex needs to access meaningful activities, develop independence and enjoy fulfilling lives. You may occasionally be required to work at our other services to provide additional support.

About the Role

Working as part of a friendly and experienced team, you will provide person-centred support to customers on a 1:1, 2:1 or 3:1 basis, both within our day service and out in the community.

Activities may include:

• Swimming
• Accessible cycling
• Karaoke
• Cooking and baking
• Music and art sessions
• Sensory activities and storytelling

You'll also support customers with everyday living, including:

• Personal care
• Eating and drinking
• Medication Administration
• Promoting independence and choice
• Building confidence and community participation

Some of our customers may display behaviours of concern, but you'll receive a comprehensive induction, shadowing and ongoing training to help you feel confident in your role.

Working Hours

This role is 29 hours per week, working:

• Monday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
• Wednesday: 9:00am – 4:00pm
• Thursday: 9:00am – 4:30pm
• Friday: 9:00am – 4:00pm

There may also be opportunities to work longer days and occasional Saturdays.

• Previous care or relevant support experience is preferred
• A caring, positive and reliable approach
• A willingness to learn and develop
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred support
• Flexibility to provide cover at other Heart of England Mencap services when required

Full training is provided.
