About this role
We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Social Media Content Creator & Manager to help raise awareness of our charity, inspire community engagement, and promote our services, fundraising campaigns, and events. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys storytelling, creating engaging digital content, and using social media to make a positive impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a social media content plan aligned with the charity's objectives.
- Create engaging content, including graphics, photos, videos, reels, and written posts.
- Manage the charity's social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other relevant channels.
- Promote fundraising campaigns, community events, volunteer opportunities, and organisational achievements.
- Capture stories, interviews, and testimonials that demonstrate the charity's impact.
- Design promotional materials using Canva or similar software.
- Schedule content and maintain a consistent posting schedule.
- Monitor social media activity, respond to comments and messages, and engage with supporters.
- Track social media performance and prepare monthly reports with recommendations for growth.
- Keep up to date with digital marketing trends and identify new opportunities to increase engagement.
- Support website updates, newsletters, and digital communications where appropriate.
Person Specification
Essential
- Experience managing social media accounts for an organisation or business.
- Excellent written communication and storytelling skills.
- Experience creating engaging digital content, including photography and short-form video.
- Proficiency in Canva and social media scheduling tools.
- Good organisational and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Passion for community engagement and the work of the charity sector.
Desirable
- Experience working within the charity, voluntary, or community sector.
- Knowledge of fundraising campaigns and supporter engagement.
- Experience with email marketing platforms and website content management.
- Basic understanding of analytics and social media advertising.
