Reporting Officer

Do you enjoy working with data and which make a direct impact on the health services we provide to patients? We are looking for a curious and driven candidate to dive into the patient data we manage, and work on the reporting needs of our service. This role involves lots of searches on our patient info management system EMIS (or similar platform such as Ardens) searches, Excel reporting based on the data extracted, PowerBI etc. You will play a key role in supporting managers and clinical staff, ensuring data is accurate, systems run smoothly, and reports are clear and reliable. You will be part of meetings with managers and commissioners to provide an informed and professional opinion about the data gathered and the potential implications for the services we run. 

Key responsibilities

• Review clean data, ensuring accuracy and consistency of information reviewed, including advising on strategies to ensure data collection at source by admins or clinicians is done well first time.
• Build and update Excel reports, including pivot tables, formulas (IF, VLOOKUP), advanced filtering, and graphs/charts.
• Support the production of regular reports.
• Work independently while asking the right questions when clarification is required.

Skills

• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, graphs, data cleaning) and PowerBI.
• Comfortable with data management and routine reporting tasks.
• Detail-focused, organised, and able to meet deadlines.
• Clear communicator, able to ask the right questions.
• Experience with EMIS (or another data/reporting system) desirable, or the ability to quickly learn how a cloud-based data platform works.
• Interest in healthcare data and improving reporting processes.
• Excellent administrative skills and computer literacy.
• Experience of prioritising workload to meet conflicting demands and deadlines.
• Ability to use initiative but ask the right questions to clarify
• Ability to reflect on and apply previous learning to new situations.
