About this role
Background and Role:
Friends of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs is an independent conservation charity, who for almost 50 years have been working to protect the area’s environmental quality and heritage, promote it as a most special part of Scotland, and provide for its future through a range of projects for people and for wildlife.
From previous experience, the post holders will need to be self-motivated, flexible and willing to work occasional evenings and weekends. The post holder should demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to manage their work in an efficient and organised manner.
Specific Duties:
* General administrative duties including email & telephone enquiries
* Manage and update financial, contact and statistical information in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
* Maintain regular positive contact with business supporters including collection of monies raised, assisting with press and marketing opportunities and encouraging promotions of the Friends to visitors, businesses and communities within and around the National Park
* Identify funding opportunities and management of the application process
* Regular updates and maintenance of the Friends website and social media
* Assistance with compilation and distribution of Voice Magazine on a biannual basis
* Identify and contact potential Friends business members in partnership with the Board of Trustees
* Organisation, planning and co-ordination of MAD (Make a Difference) days which are held throughout the year in and around the National Park
* Co-ordination of bi-monthly board meetings and AGM where minutes will be taken and distributed to the charity trustees
Terms of Employment:
· Total annual salary for this post will be £24,743 pro rata. This equates to £13,374 per annum (20 hours) or £20,061 (30 hours)
· Holiday entitlement for this post is 12 days (20 hours) or 18 days (30 hours)
· During the course of normal duties, the postholder may be required to work limited evenings and weekends for which time off in lieu will operate.
· Mileage for work related travel will be paid at a rate of £0.55 per mile. The vehicle used must be insured for work purposes. A full UK driving license is required for this role.
· The post is for an initial 24 month fixed term contract with the possibility of extension should funding be secured for the continued development of the project and subject to satisfactory annual review.
