About the role

As an HR/Legal Specialist Governor, you will play a key strategic role in supporting and challenging the Group’s leadership, helping to ensure the highest standards of governance, compliance and organisational performance.

Working as part of the Governing Body and its committees, you will provide independent expertise on people, employment, governance and legal matters, contributing to effective decision-making and long-term success.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a senior HR, legal or governance professional with strong strategic insight, excellent judgement and a commitment to public service. You will bring experience of advising senior leaders or boards, a sound understanding of employment law, governance and risk management, and the confidence to offer constructive challenge.

Professional qualifications such as Chartered CIPD status, practising solicitor, barrister, or equivalent credentials would be advantageous, as would expertise in areas such as corporate governance, charity law, data protection, organisational change or workforce transformation.
